PSA about Pantone Connect
There’s been a bit of discussion (read: disdain) about Pantone no longer integrating into Adobe CC and the launch of Pantone Connect. The TL;DR is that Pantone will now charge $15 per month for you to access the colors digitally, along with a bunch of other features that kind of just look like marketing fluff to me.
This might be common knowledge to a lot of you, but I’ve shared this with a couple of designer pals who didn’t realize that you never needed the integration to start with. If your main goal is just to set up print-ready files using Pantone colors, there’s a super easy way that’s completely free—and I promise your production partner will be able to use them perfectly.
Taking a slightly different format because I thought this would be easier to demo in video format (eep!). You can watch it here and I apologize in advance for subjecting you to my voice.
Please don’t come for me, Pantone, but we spend enough money on software as it is.
Hope this saves a few of you some dollars! For anyone using Pantone Connect who thinks it’s worth the extra features, let me know. I’m definitely a strong opinions, loosely held kinda gal.
Have a great day folks,
Gabby
