Keep it symbol
Image credit: 36 Days of Type
36 Days of Type has kicked off for another year and I’m once again too disorganised/overwhelmed with everything else in life to take part. I personally don’t mind watching from the sidelines, as it’s always inspiring to see what creative things other people come up with. The time and effort that gets put into these posts is always wildly impressive, so be sure to check it out.
It felt right to share a few links I’ve been sitting on, which relate to type but more the symbology side of things. Some of you might already know the below but discovering the SF Symbols app has been a game-changer!
SF Symbols
With over 2,400 configurable symbols, SF Symbols is designed to integrate seamlessly with San Francisco, the system font for Apple platforms.
Google Material Icons
Material Icons are available in five styles and a range of downloadable sizes and densities. The icons are based on the core Material Design principles and metrics.
Emoji Cloud
A CDN for SVG emoji’s that you can search and copy, or alternatively, download the whole pack.
That’s all for this week! Have a good one folks,
Gabby

Resource of the Week
Continuing on with the typography theme, Font Brief is a curated font discovery tool for branding and editorial. You can search via attributes, which is pretty cool! A simple idea that’s really nicely done.
Lucky Dip Links
Formist founder Mark Gowing has created a series of 34 black and white posters featuring the expressive, conceptual typography he publishes via Formist Foundry.
By now, it is pretty clear that human-centered design is not going according to plan. This is a longer-form read but very worthwhile by Space10.
